MARSTON PARISH COUNCIL WORK PARTY

Saturday 10th October 2026 | From 10.00am at the Bus Shelter

Marston Parish Council is holding a working party day and is looking for volunteers to assist with the re-staining of the bus stop shelter. It is your opportunity to put something back into this village and keep it looking kept and cared for.

The shelter that was built in the 1960s is starting to show signs of ageing and the timber, following our recent summer, is looking in need of redecoration. It is proposed to give it at least one coat of Creocote.

Anybody wishing to assist Marston Parish Council in this task is most welcome.

We do bring your attention to the safety element of this task and attach a risk assessment, which we strongly suggest you read, to ensure that you are fully versed in what is envisaged.

We can supply hi viz, glasses and gloves for your protection, but if you can bring along a suitable paintbrush and may be an old container (cut down plastic milk containers are ideal) to decant some of the stain into for your use that would be helpful.

Cllr Jon Robbins is in charge of the work party task, any queries or suggestions should be addressed to him. If you have any other improvement or maintenance projects that could be suitable for a future working party then do send them to him, email jon@marstonpc.co.uk

Thank you
